Fat Skis and Squidoo

Posted in Daily Grind on September 12th, 2006

I’ve been getting into Squidoo.com thoroughly of late. It’s one of those social network sites that could hit myspace critical mass status. Reminds me of the domain rush days- everyone scramblin’ to grad their lens/domain/topic to own. One of the topics passionate to my heart is powder skiing…and you can’t enjoy powder skiing completely unless you’re using fat skis.

I took an RSS Affiliate feed from AvantLink.com, and created a dynamic showcase that featured powder skis from Altrec. As new products are added and shuffled through inventory, this showcase will change. There are also a few powder skiing-related links and a killer powder explosion on a typical Alta, Utah powder day.

More to come…check out Squidoo.com and build your own lens!

Mount St. Helens has Recently Reopened to Climbers

Posted in Industry News on September 1st, 2006

Mount St. Helens recently reopened to climbers on July 21st. In addition to the basics (compass, map, warm clothing & water) the forest service recommends that all climbers bring sunglasses that completely seal around the eyes to keep toxic dust out, a dust mask and a climber’s helmet, just in case the volcano sends rocks and debris over the rim.
