New this winter, The Ski Tour (TST) plays out at four of America’s top ski resorts—Sun Valley (Idaho), Breckenridge, Aspen/Snowmass (Colorado), and Squaw Valley (California). The world’s best skiers will compete in skiercross or skier halfpipe competitions for $500,000. This is the largest cash purse in skiing! During the competitions, a gigantic concert venue will bring some of the largest bands to the heart of the mountains. All four events will be nationally televised on network television.

Alta Ski Lift Co. features several forecast and weather links on their site, but I wanted to highlight our favorite. The National Weather Service for Salt Lake City issues a daily report for the canyons east of Salt Lake City that are the most thorough and perhaps the most accurate.

For example, here is the synopsis for today:

Synopsis:
A weak but moist storm system will move through the canyon areas this afternoon and this evening. Snow density should be higher than the Sunday night system. Flow across the ridges will be moderate to strong through the week with the snow level rising to 7500 to 8000 feet by Thursday.
