Hiker and Ex-Marine is Hiking the AP Trail Barefoot
Whoa. I actually read a blog post recently on the Backcountry.com Blog about one of their employees, “Barefoot Brett” who has now run 3 marathons barefoot. …oh and at least one was in the desert on the hot pavement in the summer :). Pretty incredible achievement, running 78 miles over three marathons..
But how about walking barefoot up the eastern seaboard from Georgia to Maine or Maine to Georgia:
More than five hundred people hike the entire Appalachian Trail each year. Ron Zaleski has been trying to accomplish the feat barefoot. His goal is to bring attention to the need for combat veterans to receive counseling. He’s workin’ through it now.. At his current pace, he would make it to Georgia just before Christmas.
