Salt Lake City, UT, March 22, 2007 — Black Diamond Equipment Ltd., a world leader in climbing and skiing gear and manufacturing, celebrated St. Pat’s weekend in the Wasatch mountains under sunny blue skies with a host of events for the avid adventurer/skier.

The 5th annual PowderKeg race hosted alpine touring (AT) and telemark skiers in two divisions, Race and Recreational, on Saturday March 17 and served as a qualifier for the United States Ski Mountaineering Association (USSMA) National Team.

“We changed some elements in the PowderKeg this year and expanded the event to a weekend of activities to meet growing demand,” explains Colleen Graham Nipkow, Black Diamond’s PowderKeg Organizer. “The PowderKeg course changed, becoming more technical, and bringing the finish back to Alta was a great success.
