San Francisco, CA, October 29, 2007 - Sierra magazine has named America’s top ten “coolest” schools for their efforts to mitigate climate change. From green electricity to a $12 million fund for ecofriendly projects, to a green dorm, the issue honors the colleges and Universities who are making a difference with climate change and global warming initiatives. The cover story for Sierra’s November/December issue is Sierra’s first-ever such listing of American schools.

“A new trend - American schools are going green,” said Bob Sipchen, Sierra’s Editor-in-Chief. “When schools take such important steps toward addressing climate change, it will have a huge impact on hundreds of thousands of students. And if young people take that passion forward in life, it will reverberate globally.”
